Look Out for The Grand Garnisher
Hendrick’s Gin (which is itself infused with cucumber) has, for the past three months, been traveling across the United States with its eye-popping, wondrously strange cucumber slicing device with the sole purpose of offering the most beautifully garnished Hendrick’s Gin cocktails ever to grace a glass.
The Grand Garnisher
The Grand Garnisher
Hendrick’s Ambassador Mark Stoddard said that since June, The Hendrick’s Grand Garnisher has traveled more than 10,050 miles, visited 10 cities, and sliced upwards of 893 cucumbers for the proper garnishment of more than 2,000 Hendrick’s Gin cocktails.

“This is the most inefficient, yet spectacular, garnishing device in all of the land,” Stoddard says of the 38-foot device, powered by a hybrid diesel motor, interlocking gears, 1800s steam engine and a talented penny farthing rider. “Our Grand Garnisher achieves road speeds of up to 25 mph and slices 18 cucumbers per hour, thanks to our well-dressed gentleman furiously pedaling his way across the States!”
The Hendrick’s Grand Garnisher has thus far graced the presence of iconic landmarks including the New York Skyline, Chicago Skyline, Hollywood Sign, Golden Gate Bridge, and the famed Superdome in New Orleans. It will continue for the next 80 days and will make stops in another 11 cities including San Diego, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Tampa; FL; Miami, FL; wrapping up in Washington, D.C. Select hi-res photos from the tour stops are available upon request.

Sofidel Introduces New Products
Sofidel, a global provider of paper for hygienic and domestic use, introduced its line of Hy Tech dispensers, which includes no-touch electronic, mechanical and twin dispensers for two rolls. The line is constructed from highly resistant plastic materials and uses designs from Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni.  The company also debuted Papernet Bio Tech, the first toilet paper to use innovative Biologic Active Tissue Paper (BATP) technology. When the paper makes contact with water, natural, non-pathogenic microorganisms are activated and produce enzymes to eat away dirt. Once their work is complete, the enzymes bio-degrade, leaving no residue or negative environmental impact.sofidel

“Facilities seek restroom solutions that will stand the test of time, work seamlessly and help control costs and the spread of germs,” said Fabio Vitali, Vice President AFH Marketing & Sales for Sofidel America. “Our new Hy Tech electronic dispensers are durable and aesthetically pleasing, and help users maintain proper hygiene. The automatic feature also helps control the consumption of towels to reduce unnecessary waste.”

The Hy Tech dispensers are built using Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), an extremely strong type of plastic. With resistance to physical impacts and corrosive chemicals, the high-quality dispensers keep restrooms looking their best while reducing replacement costs for facilities.

The new HyTech dispensers work exclusively with Papernet paper towels and tissue, a premium line of top performance products for the most demanding environments. During the paper’s production process, a plug is inserted into the rolls to ensure they fit seamlessly within the dispensers. All Hy Tech dispensers also feature easy paper loading.

“A poorly maintained restroom can negatively impact a business’s reputation and the bottom line, so it’s important to stock innovative products that actually improve the restroom experience,” added Vitali. “Bio Tech is designed to help reduce odors and clogs in pipes, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and limiting the frequency of expensive and time-consuming repairs.”sofidel

In about four weeks, the sanitizing effect of Papernet’s Bio Tech toilet paper helps to free pipes, septic tanks and sewer systems of dirt to help prevent blockages. Sample studies prove that the exclusive use of Bio Tech drastically reduces the need to pump out the sewer system and enables total savings of up to 40 percent compared with standard toilet paper. The product also helps fight unpleasant restroom odors that can turn away guests and attract insects.

Bio Tech is nominated for a 2017 ISSA Innovation Award for the Supplies & Accessories category.
