LegislationCanada Bans Single Use Plastics: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the Government of Canada would ban multiple categories of single-use plastics, including plastic bags, straws, cutlery, plates, and stir sticks beginning in 2021.  The government will conduct a scientific analysis to decide which products to ban first.  

San Francisco Bans Cashless Restaurants and Stores: On May 7,  the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to require that brick-and-mortar businesses accept payment in cash in connection with the purchase of goods and services other than professional services.  The law is now awaiting Mayor London Breed’s signature.
