Helping restaurants understand the benefits of  participating in “Meatless Monday” was one aspect covered by The Monday Campaigns, the nonprofit public health organization behind the global Meatless Monday movement, during a panel discussion at the International Restaurant and Foodservice Show of New York.

Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future, a scientific advisor to Meatless Monday, surveyed foodservice operators on how they are serving up flavor-rich non-meat menus and promoting them to their customers. The survey uncovered promotional challenges the foodservice operators faced and how they tackled them with creative solutions. Becky Ramsing, MPH, RD, a Johns Hopkins researcher shared  key learnings from the foodservice survey. Peggy Neu, President of The Monday Campaigns, unveiled the new free Meatless Monday Foodservice Turnkey Kit, designed to help foodservice operators with effective marketing strategies and tactics for successful promotions
