How Bot Marketing Drives Revenue by Delivering on Speed and Exclusivity

Restaurant bot marketing has started to hit the mainstream as this A.I technology empowers restaurateurs to meet two key needs from today’s consumer: speed and exclusivity.
By being able to use the power of Facebook Messenger Bot marketing, you can send the same messages you would in your newsletter but with open rates between 80-90 percent. With bot marketing you can automate many conversations that you would otherwise require a dedicated staff member responding to. You can also inform people about just about any questions they have instantaneously before they try your neighbour. Finally, you can leverage the features of a bot to drive direct sales when using an exclusive offer with a bot campaign.
Speed is the Name of the Game
A 2017 global mobile survey revealed that organizations take around 600 minutes to respond back to customers FAQ over Facebook Messenger. By this time, they have already tried 600 other options.
The reason why technology like bot marketing is needed is that a customer’s expectations for immediate responses doesn’t mix well with the reality that restaurateurs are on their feet 18 hours a day – restaurants need someone to step in.
Another survey conducted in Denmark highlighted the fact that in case of a query, 70 percent of restaurants do not respond. Twenty-five percent of them responded after a week and the remaining five percent of restaurants took two to 12 hours to respond.

People usually make dining decisions moments before going out and in most cases, the most reliable bet is what gets the business. To make sure you’re on the right side of that reality, you need to set up your bot.
How it works is that you can now program and train Facebook Messenger to converse with customers in real-time as if you were there in real-time. You can create a decision tree and automated sequence of messages to drive customer attention to your newest menu items, special promotions, and special announcements.
Exclusive Deals: Driving $35,000 in Revenue
Eighty percent of diners are likely to try a new restaurant if there’s an exclusive deal. Many deals fail because they aren’t distributed properly, not reinforced often enough and finally, many aren’t compelling enough for customers to act on. Bot marketing gave Rapid Fire Pizzeria the ability to have patrons instantly win a free appetizer by entering into their contest and tagging their friends. These results are from a client of Matt Plapp and his ROI Engine program.
Key Results at a Glance
-
Rapid Fired Pizzeria offered a free cheese stick on Facebook Messenger to 4,800 of their subscribers which they build up in 10 months. In a very personable way, as if a friend was sending them a Facebook message, they offered the cheese stick and had 34 percent of people redeemed it after various non-intrusive reminders – an email could never have done the same without mass unsubscribes.
-
The 34 percent totaled 1661 visitors who spent about $15 after redeeming their cheese stick (this is more than their average cheque size).
-
Another 777 came after the promotion was pushed again to equal $35,000 in-direct revenue.
This calculation doesn’t factor future visits by new customers or old customers that were reactivated.
Today, more than 100,000 bots are being used on Facebook Messenger to collect information, make product recommendations, take orders and even to advance social good. Bots give you a new way to build brand awareness, increase foot traffic, and spread information on events and specials.
Email open-rates used to be 90 percent before mass adoption kicked in and dropped it down to under 30 percent. Bot open rates are currently at what email used to be – how long do you want to wait?
