The Hatchery and Grubhub Pitch Contest

Grubhub kicked off a new $300,000 partnership with the Chicago Hatchery, a leading non-profit incubator dedicated to fostering successful food and beverage businesses on the West Side of Chicago. As part of this partnership Grubhub will be sponsoring a pitch competition and the link to apply is now open.

All five finalists will go home with a prize, but out first place winner will be awarded rent-free access to a private Grubhub Kitchen at the Hatchery for an entire year, plus additional wraparound support from The Hatchery Chicago and Grubhub. See official rules here

Interested Chicago-based food and beverage entrepreneurs can apply now through 5:00 p.m. CT on Monday, Oct. 23rd by visiting  The Hatchery’s website.

Once the application period closes, five finalists will be selected to pitch their business plans on how they will grow their restaurant concept – and share samples of their delicious foods to a panel of judges during the Hatchery’s annual fundraiser on Friday, Dec 1.

The first-place winner will be awarded rent-free access to the private Grubhub Kitchen at The Hatchery for an entire year, plus additional wrap around support from The Hatchery and Grubhub.

Taylor Mason of Taylor’s Tacos will serve as one of our guest judges during the pitch contest. This is a full circle moment for the entrepreneur who originally got her start at the Hatchery Chicago and even won a pitch contest a couple of years back. Taylor is also a Grubhub grant recipient and has transitioned her pop taco catering business to a bustling brick and mortar store that has gained national recognition. We are excited for Taylor to bring her business expertise to the judges’ panel and share her advice with the finalists.
