Making The Museum of Food and Drink
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Brooklyn, New York
How do you make a museum from scratch, particularly for something as ephemeral as food and drink? How do you design for nostrils and tongues as well as eyes and ears?
Learn how The Museum of Food and Drink was designed on Tuesday, July 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. MOFAD Lab is located at 62 Bayard St., Brooklyn, NY.
Paola Antonelli of MoMA will moderate a discussion with MOFAD’s creative direction team, Labour NY (Ryan Dunn and Wyeth Hansen), and program director Emma Boast about the challenge and excitement of new experiential design. They’ll take a behind-the-scenes look at how design took MOFAD’s interactive exhibitions from dream to reality, and what they can tell us about the future of museums. Experience Flavor: Making It and Faking It and learn from the team how an old garage became New York’s newest cultural institution.
Exhibition viewing and reception with light refreshments at 6 pm, followed by the panel from 7-8 pm. Tickets are $20 for general admission/$10 for student admission. For ticket information, click here.
