Food Day Canada
12:00 am Canada
Maple Leaf Foods and Chef Andrea Nicholson have been hard at work creating great Canadian-inspired recipes that are prefect for all-Canadian shopping lists for Food Day Canada, celebrated on July 30.
Food Day Canada is a one-day party for all Canadians to join hands in one massive celebration in praise of Canadian food and recipes created nationally, regionally and locally. It’s also a day of recognition for Canada’s farmers, fishers, chefs, food researchers and, above all, home cooks who support, create and enjoy Canadian cuisine.
“We are so excited to celebrate the diverse yet distinct cuisine of Canada,” said Maple Leaf’s Chef Andrea Nicholson. “From fresh Maple Leaf Prime poultry to locally-inspired Maple Leaf Canadian Craft artisan meats, Maple Leaf has more than 1,000 great tasting foods made right here in Canada to inspire meals coast-to-cost. We’re also proud to partner with more than 2,000 pork and poultry farmers across Canada who work hard every day raising animals responsibly. Let’s join together and celebrate great Canadian food made by great Canadians!”
“Food Day Canada is a movement,” said Anita Stewart, University of Guelph Food Laureate and founder of Food Day Canada. “Great food inspires great collaboration and conversation. It’s our way of rallying all Canadians together to create awareness of the power and creativity Canadian food can foster for our country and internationally.”
