The National Conference of State Liquor Administrators, Incorporated (NCSLA) will assemble June 16 – 19 in Washington, DC for its 2024 annual conference. Serving as conference host is the District of Columbia Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA). “ABCA is excited to welcome back NCSLA to our Nation’s Capital for the first time since 2012 for this appropriately themed conference that highlights our amazing city,” said Director Fred Moosally.
Join us as we celebrate NCSLA’s 90th anniversary at this year’s Annual Conference, “A Capital Idea: Regulating for the Future, Building on our Past!” Come take a trip through time as we explore historical and cutting-edge issues related to the alcohol beverage industry. “It is very appropriate that on the eve of the 90th anniversary of our organization, we return to our nation’s capital which stands as a symbol of our nation’s present, past and future. The NCSLA annual meeting experience is a rare opportunity to share ideas with state regulators from across the country. Our team is looking forward to presenting an excellent educational program coupled with amazing networking and entertainment experiences. Please join us to celebrate the past and to be part of our future,” said NCSLA President Ernest Legier, Jr. and Commissioner of the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.
The NCSLA Annual Conference promises a packed educational agenda and numerous opportunities to network with industry colleagues and friends. We’ll start with a historic perspective and tip of the hat to our host city by exploring connections between beverage alcohol sourcing and White House occupants. We’ll move through to current issues our forefathers could never have envisioned, such as licensing in the age of complex ownership structures, the regulatory implications of the AI revolution and societal trends facing Gen Z and how those trends impact alcohol marketing. Other timely topics include: public safety and enforcement issues, the marketing of cross-over beverages, the balance of regulation and business, and how to support a culture of compliance. The program also includes a legal update of the year’s most influential decisions, an ethics presentation and a one of a kind game show where two teams of industry professionals will face off to define common industry terms! You won’t want to miss this educational event. To view the entire business agenda and a list of faculty, visit www.ncsla.org.
And for those who need to fulfill Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements, NCSLA will obtain pre-approval from some state authorities along with providing a Uniform Certificate of Attendance for submission to your local jurisdiction. The annual conference will be held at the Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel, 1000 H Street NW, Washington, DC. Registration is now open so visit www.ncsla.org today for details.
