Eight Data-Driven Restaurant Marketing Tips (Infographic)

Marketing your restaurant is no easy task. It can be particularly difficult to keep up with the latest trends and perks that drive customers to visit or make an order.  From selling a unique dining experience to shifting toward healthy menu options, customer priorities are shifting, and so should your restaurant marketing.

Interestingly, 61 percent of adults would rather spend money on an experience, such as a restaurant or other activity, compared to buying a material item. Beyond just decor, think about functionality for your restaurant. Consider getting customers out of their seats with a shuffleboard or cornhole area. Or, set up communal seating so guest can really feel at home.

Similarly, 70 percent  of diners are more likely to choose a restaurant that offers healthy menu options. People are even willing to pay more for healthier food options. By age group, people will pay the following premiums:

  • Millennials: $3.93

  • Gen X: $3.58

  • Baby boomers: $2.59

  • Seniors: $1.95

Beyond these items, consider what form of advertising resonates most with your customers (of all generations). By 2020, Gen X will make up 40 percent of all consumers and they notice social, TV, display and word-of-mouth the most.
